Woman, 3-year-old son, killed in crash with school bus

NORRIDGEWOCK, ME — Authorities say a woman and that person toddler son were killed when that person car was struck by a school bus in Norridgewock.

The Somerset County Sherriff’s office says 36-year-old Amanda Carter was heading south on Fredericks Corner Road on Fri night when she failed to stop at the intersection with Route two and drove directly in front of the school bus. Both she and the person 3-year-old son, Mark Schinzel, died at the scene.

The bus from Livermore Falls was carrying students back from a school function. No one on the bus was hurt.
